Melissa Loy, LVT, LVMT has been a veterinary technician for 7 years and now works in academia, teaching the next generation of gold-standard veterinary technicians. Kristian Winningham, LVT is an Elect member who became a Recover CPR Rescuer to aid in CPR proficiency, and Elite member Anna Springer, RVT said she loves “learning about nutrition and the role it plays in the longevity of the pet’s life.” We have had several cases this year that I assisted on, and I have learned so much from the veterinarians I work with about management, prognosis, and follow-up care.” She said, “My favorite skill that I have learned is how to collect blood from donor animals and perform blood transfusions. In honor of National Vet Tech Week, we asked members to tell us the most interesting CE course they've taken or skill they've learned in the past year.Įlite member Korah Cadwell, RVT is mastering cytology and learning how to identify different types of masses to be able to identify benign versus malignant. To be a member of Veterinary Care Elite, you must achieve the highest standard of veterinary care, which includes completing more continuing education than is required by any jurisdiction.
